A 100 watt monoblock power amplifier that gives you pure high end sound at a great price
Amazon.com Product Description
The Amp 5.1 stereo power amplifier from AudioSource is a powerful and flexible addition to your home theater. You can use this monoblock amplifier by itself, or combine it with a series of Amp 5.1 units to power an entire home theater and drive speakers throughout your home.
The clean design houses a high-power amplifier that is easy to set up and easy to expand as your home theater grows. AudioSource amplifiers deliver accurate, rich sound, combining high sound-pressure levels and a clear reproduction of even the most subtle details of sound. The Amp 5.1 provides up to 100 watts per channel with total harmonic distortion of less than 0.1%.
Depending on your needs, you can place and replace several monoblock amps in one system. It’s easy to connect power sources, audio and video inputs, and speaker outputs with the expansion-friendly design. Balanced inputs allow the Amp 5.1 to connect to audio and video components with XLR outputs, and unbalanced inputs handle RCA output connections.
The front panel of the amplifier has a simple array of LED displays that signal both operating status and potential warnings. A protect warning helps you avoid overloading or overheating the unit, and it will reset the unit to the initial settings once the problem is addressed.
A phase control button allows you to switch the polarity of the speaker outputs to compensate for occasions where speakers are out of phase and sounding hollow. A low-cut control feature filters the lowest frequencies from your small speakers, preventing distortion and protecting the speakers. In the heart of the amp, the torodial power transformer generates a big sound while reducing distortion by shielding the sound from stray magnetic fields. You can control the volume directly on the unit or by adjusting the signal source component (such as your receiver, preamp, etc.).

There's nothing in its price-range that has similar quality. The output isn't quite as rich a Bruce Moore 70, but at 1/20th the price, it's a great deal. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful: Nice small, versatile amp., By This review is from: AudioSource Amp 5.1A 100-Watt Monoblock Power Amplifier (Electronics) I use pairs of these in my conference rooms. They provide pleny of power, are small, support both balanced and unbalanced inputs, and the auto-power feature means I don't even have to touch them; when the audio source is turned off so do all the amps. I recommend adding the EQ25.1 to tune the sound to your room. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: Perfect Amp for my center channel, By Tinkerus Compulsivitus (Lake Forest, California USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: AudioSource Amp 5.1A 100-Watt Monoblock Power Amplifier (Electronics) This Amp did not disappoint! Our main Dolby 5.1 audio system has one big drawback: the speakers are all mounted in the downstairs ceiling and my daughter's room is right above them so I can' run them after 7:00pm when she goes to sleep. Problem is, without a true center channel running, my wife and often have trouble picking up dialog from the weak built-in speakers of our 61" JVC HDTV. The solution was a Midiland ADS 2000 DTS Decoder outputting just the center channel signal to a single AudioSource 5.1A Monoblock and a Polk Audio RM6902 speaker to supplement those weak built in speakers of the 61" JVC. Now we get to have our cake (i.e. hear the dialog clearly from the center channel) and eat it too (still hear the left and right channels where the music and other background sounds are). All without needing to fire up the main 5.1 dolby digital amp. Best of all, I don't have to get up to turn the AudioSource Amp on: it just turns itself on when I turn on the... Read more |
